What do we get when we add five talented musicians to two talented musicians? All Strings Detached Septet!
All Strings Detached is Slovenian singer-songwriting duo consisting of an excellent songwriting partnership between Jana Beltran and Vesna Godler. Their minimalistic music aesthetic, formed by intimate strumming on Jana’s guitar with Vesna’s bass support and the magical synergy of their vocals is well-known and well-established formula among concert goers. Music, a fusion of indie folk and dark americana, gives the expressive lyricism prominence. It most often describes darker emotions, disappointment with love and man-woman relationships. All Strings Detached is currently one of the most prominent female bands in Slovenia.
The 2014 release of album Heavy Rain left a strong impression on the local scene. Second album There’s Something Painful About the Pearls followed in 2017 and this year we got the third one: Septet.
On their last album, band expands their sound palette with rhythm section of brothers Vid and Jošt Drašler, a string trio of viola (Klemen Bračko) and violins (Barja Drnovšek and Bojan Cvetrežnik), but despite its larger ensemble, it doesn’t abstain from the ‘less is more’ principle. Music breathes and leaves a lot of room for the imagination. Contribution to the mastery of the album is the production and mix of one of the most famous Seattle musicians in Ljubljana and the face of Glitterbeat, Chris Eckman.
In short, it’s about time that they stop in Gala and present us their great new album.
