Ljubljanska trojica Ludovik Material, ki je letos izdala svoj drugi album, imenovan Model Generation, je 23. in 24. maja, torej kar DVAKRAT, zaigrala na odrih enega največjih svetovnih glasbeno-konferenčnih festivalov – Liverpool Sound City. Festival, ki ga letno obišče do 50 tisoč ljudi, je letos potekal od 22. do 24. maja na liverpoolski obmorski lokaciji Bramley-Moore Dock. Ludovik Material so najprej zaigrali v soboto, 23. maja, na t. i. Cavern Stagu (ki je poimenovan po prvi koncertni lokaciji legendarnih The Beatles), kjer je njihov oder kljub zelo zgodnji uri koncerta (13:45) obiskalo več kot 100 ljudi, nato pa so na festivalu nastopili KOT EDINI DRUGIČ še v nedeljo, 24. maja, in sicer na Record Store Stagu ob 19:15. Slednji prostor so popolnoma zapolnili, ljudje pa so se zaradi zanimanja zbirali tudi pred šotorom, kjer je oder stal. Na festivalu so med drugim nastopili tudi znameniti The Flaming Lips in The Vaccines, legendarni Swans, Belle and Sebastian in Thurston Moore, vzhajajoči asi sodobne glasbe Iceage in Cymbals Eat Guitars ter mnogi, mnogi drugi.
Pofestivalski odzivi na koncerta Ludovik Material so bili ekstatični. Že odzivi po obeh koncertih so bili izdatno vzpodbudni (“My ears will never be the same”, “THE best gig of the festival”, “You have to come back to the UK as soon as possible”), medijska hvala pa je hvalo obiskovalcev ponesla še nivo višje:

Started shooting these and first impression is that it would be a bit of Euro power ballad time… then the singer drops to her knee and lets out the most almighty fucking death metal roar and it all kicks off. Boom. They’re on the Record collector again tonight at 7.15 I think. Well worth a wander by!”
